The summit, held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The summit comprehensively planned China-Central Asia cooperation, from infrastructure construction to expanding trade, from promoting high-quality economic and trade development to strengthening people-to-people exchanges. China expressed its willingness to work with Central Asian countries to promote the synergy of development strategies, promote the process of modernization and achieve common prosperity.
Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the need to work with Central Asian countries to build a community of win-win cooperation and mutual achievement. In his keynote speech at the summit, he said that Central Asia is the center of the Eurasian continent and is at the crossroads connecting the east and the west and running through the north and the south. He also stressed the need to build a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
The five Central Asian countries are China's strategic neighbors. In 2013, during his visit to Kazakhstan, President Xi Jinping proposed the construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt". In 2022, when he traveled to Uzbekistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, he was invited to pay state visits to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, which was President Xi Jinping's first foreign visit since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. This also proves that China attaches great importance to China-Central Asia relations. (Source: China Daily)
