On the morning of November 1, the commissioning ceremony for Jiaxin International’s Boguty Tungsten Mine Project in Kazakhstan was successfully held. The smooth commencement of operations at this project marks a major milestone in actively serving and integrating into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Wang Ying, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Jiangxi Copper Corporation (a shareholder of Jiaxin International), attended the ceremony on behalf of the group company and officially announced the commencement of production. Jiang Wei, Consul General of China in Almaty, also attended the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 200 representatives from shareholder entities, relevant local government departments, as well as design, supervision, and construction firms participated in the ceremony, jointly witnessing this pivotal moment.

Jiang Wei extended warm congratulations on the successful commissioning of the project and highly praised the project team for overcoming long distances and pandemic-related challenges, tackling difficulties and breaking through bottlenecks to achieve this encouraging milestone. She stated that the successful launch of Jiaxin International's Boguty Tungsten Mine Project marks another fruitful outcome of high-quality BRI cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, and will undoubtedly contribute further to the well-being of the two peoples. She emphasized that China-Kazakhstan relations have embarked on a new “Golden Thirty Years”, and called on Chinese enterprises to diligently implement the new plans and frameworks jointly formulated by the heads of state of both countries for all-round practical cooperation.      Enterprises should actively advance BRI cooperation projects, ensuring high-quality development of China-Kazakhstan pragmatic collaboration. Upholding the core principles of the BRI - mutual benefit, win-win outcomes, and shared development, companies should create more jobs, cultivate skilled talent, and contribute to local economic and social development. These efforts will promote high-quality development of BRI cooperation and mutually beneficial engagement across sectors, contributing to the building of a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future.

Wang Ying, on behalf of Jiangxi Copper Corporation, extended a warm welcome to all the Chinese and Kazakh guests present at the venue. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kazakh governments at all levels and the Consulate General of China in Almaty for their continuous care and support for the construction of the Boguty Tungsten Mine Project. She also offered sincere greetings to the design, supervision, and construction entities that have spared no effort in supporting the project's development. She pointed out that the successful commissioning of the Boguty Tungsten Mine Project represents a successful alignment and practical implementation of the BRI cooperation and Kazakhstan's economic policy of building a “Just Kazakhstan” between China and Kazakhstan. She emphasized that Zhetisu Volframy, a subsidiary of Jiaxin International, should follow the strategic layout and overall planning of the group company and go all out to make the Boguty Tungsten Mine a shining “card” of China-Kazakhstan production capacity cooperation and a benchmark model for high-quality BRI cooperation. Zhetisu Volframy should further deepen the interconnection with Almaty Oblast and even the whole of Kazakhstan under the general principle of “extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits” between China and Kazakhstan. The company should take the Boguty Tungsten Mine as a starting point and carry out more cooperation in the development and utilization of mining resources to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

A key representative from Zhetisu Volframy provided an overview of the newly commissioned project. Since its establishment, Zhetisu Volframy has adhered to the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits with the goal of building an intelligent and environmentally friendly mine. The company has tackled challenges head-on to accelerate construction progress, ensured meticulous management to guarantee equipment installation quality, and advanced the Boguty Tungsten Mine project with high standards, efficiency, and quality. Milestones such as water and power access, tailings storage, and commencement of mining operations have been achieved, and integrated system test runs have been successfully completed. As a result, a brand-new, modern mine has been successfully brought to life.
