New Progress! Successful First Standalone Test Run of Ball Mill No.1 at the Kazakhstan Boguty Tungsten Mine Project

Thanks to the strong leadership and support from Jiangxi Copper Corporation and Jiaxin International, and the concerted efforts of all participating parties, the Boguty Tungsten Mine Project in Kazakhstan achieved a significant milestone on July 7 - the successful first standalone test run of Ball Mill No.1. This marks a major step forward toward the project’s final completion and commissioning.
At 12:30 a.m. local time (3:30 a.m. Beijing time), the test run of Ball Mill No.1 officially commenced after verifying readiness across key systems, including the mill body, safety protection system, hydraulic system, cooling system, control system, electrical equipment, and auxiliary systems. Once started, Ball Mill No.1 operated smoothly, with all parameters meeting design specifications and regulatory standards. In accordance with the commissioning plan, the mill ran continuously, safely, and stably for six hours before being shut down.
Power and water infrastructure were prioritized to enable commissioning and production. Through close coordination with the Almaty government and “Alatau Zharyk Company” JSC, the project successfully energized the mine’s main step-down substation with a capacity of 3.8 MW. Power was also successfully transmitted and distributed from the main substation to the dressing plant and the facilities of its sub-projects. Under the expert guidance of the project team, and with the manufacturer’s cooperation alongside the EPC contractor, test runs of the water supply equipment at the intake pump station and booster pump station were completed in succession, achieving the goal of water flow through the full 21.6-kilometer external water pipeline.
United in purpose, advancing with speed and determination. While ensuring construction safety, environmental compliance, high-quality, and on-schedule equipment installation, the entire team worked in unison to overcome numerous challenges - such as dispersed work areas, extensive construction lines, overlapping operations, and demanding process requirements - striving to accelerate the project’s construction progress. The project team held daily coordination meetings for equipment installation to manage and streamline commissioning tasks. As a result, standalone test runs were successfully completed for several key pieces of equipment, including flotation machines, vibrating screens, thickeners, and air compressors.
Building on this momentum, the team is pressing forward with determination. The successful standalone test run of the ball mill marks a rallying call for the project’s transition into trial production. Zhetisu Volframy will take this milestone as a new starting point - uniting efforts to break through bottlenecks, tackle remaining challenges head-on, and ensure all tasks are completed with both safety and quality as top priorities - striving to bring the Boguty Tungsten Mine Project into production and deliver results as early as possible.
